DECEMBER 2010
For Unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is Given…
It is that time of the year when our thoughts are on
the aspect of the Birth of Christ.
Of all the wonderful truths that come from that
glorious birth of the Son of God, the thing that has been upon our
hearts, is this scripture, Isaiah 9:6. This great text makes Jesus the
Christ Child “personal.”
This baby was born unto US and this child was given
to US. We rejoice that we personally have this Son in our hearts, given
by God for our salvation.
This same Son of God is the same who walked on water,
fed the five thousand, healed the sick, calmed the storms.
He is this Son who is given to US.
“He that hath the Son of God hath life…”
…the Son shall set you free.”
This Son is ours and thank God, has lost none of His
Marvelous powers to perform on our behalf.
Let us rejoice in the truth
WE HAVE A SON
We want to say a warm hearted thank you to all those
who have given on behalf of the Son.
God has used you to help us as we labor in His
vineyard. We have been truly blessed as the Lord has moved in so many
ways to bless His churches and to save those who were lost without the
Son. All that the Lord has done is laid to your credit and will be your
reward as you have, for the Son’s sake, given to the spreading of the
Gospel.
WE love you and count it a joy when we can visit with
you and share IN the wondrous workings of “THE SON.”
May the Lord continue to make Jesus real in your
hearts throughout the coming year, 2011, and don’t forget:
HE IS YOUR SON
NOVEMBER 2010
We gathered with our entire family for the
Thanksgiving holiday and had such a wonderful time, listening to our
children and spouses talk about all that is going on with their jobs,
their kids, their churches, and the college talk. The
grandchildren made run of the house as they used every room to find new
things to... well, get into. Except for Taylor who is eleven, the
last ten are all under six years old. You can only imagine, they found
things we were not even aware we had. Every minute was filled with
excitement in one way or another. The walls rang with joy and laughter,
as did our hearts.
We have to say the
greatest moment, though, was just before parting ways. Before the
children's arrival, we left the "horn of plenty" basket empty on the
dining room table. Instructions were given at the Thanksgiving
meal as to why it was empty and how we wanted the adult children to fill
it during their time there. The contents were to be five things
that reminded each of them of what they were most thankful for this year
and to place a list of five things they would like the Lord to answer in
the coming year. The basket began to be filled with items of
Bibles, crosses, lighthouses, family pictures, food, memory book, and
various things which, some were funny applications and some were heart
felt items. As we sat around the table and each one elaborated and
expressed the importance of the various items, the tears began to
flow and the joy bubbled over in our hearts. It was truly a time
of gratitude to our Heavenly Father for what each one had experienced
this year. We as parents of children who have children, have such
an overwhelming thankfulness for what we were able to hear from those we
love the most. It is such a great blessing to know your children
love the Lord and trust Him because they have found Him to be true in
their own lives. Our hearts have been made to rejoice for the Lord
is mindful of us.
We want to share the scriptures that so blessed us all, as we could
clearly see why we were able to sit and enjoy all that took place around
our house this Thanksgiving.
Jeremiah
29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith
the Lord, thought of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected
end.
Then shall ye
call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto
you.
And ye shall
seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. OCTOBER 2010
This has been a month of much travel,
but graced with the Lord's hand of protection as we have spent many
hours in the car. Not a trip goes by, upon arrival of our
destination, that we don't stop to thank the Lord for safety.
So many times we see accidents and know because of being so tired in
body that we could have been in that same position. We need the
Lord in everyway. We ask you to keep us in your prayers as we go
each week somewhere to preach the gospel.
We rejoice to say there have been several
folks saved this month. Two of these, a husband and his wife,
who are middle age in North Carolina. One young mother was
gloriously saved in Georgia. So many have told us the messages on
the Family of God have really made a difference in their lives. We
trust the Lord continues to use this ministry to be a blessing and help
to so many others.
The holidays are just
around the corner. We look forward to being with our children and
grandchildren for Thanksgiving and Christmas. May we all
remember, as we gather with family, to give our gratitude, blessing, and
glorification to the one who came, Jesus Christ, who loves us and gave
Himself for us, and who will take care of all our needs. WE LOVE
YOU ALL. SEPTEMBER 2010
We bless the Lord for all His Great and
Merciful Benefits to us. Our hearts are filled with His praises.
We have been made aware through so many testimonies and experiences of
His grace this month that He too, is great in your hearts as well.
How marvelous it is that He can fill your hearts and in the same times
and ways, He fills and indwells us. There is nothing our Heavenly
Father cannot do and will not do for His little children.
Matthew 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask
bread, will he give him a stone? We are sure and have
experienced our Heavenly Father gives "good gifts unto his
children". He said, "Ask, and it shall be
given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto
you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. John 7:7-8
II Corinthians 1:20 For all
the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of
God by us. The word Amen meaning, It is so, Let it be
so, God is faithful, God is true, Verily, Verily.
We have a Promise given by the one who
made the Heavens, parted Seas, raised the dead, healed the multitudes,
fed and supplied water to the millions in the wilderness for forty
years, gave His only Begotten Son to pay our sin debt, and on and
eternally on. Is there any question in your mind that our Heavenly
Father has the power to take care of His children and that He does love
us and will keep His divine promises. We have asked for many
things from our Lord and He never handed us a stone.
You may be fearful of all that is
presented us from our political leaders and all that we know to be true
about the downfall of our great nation, but take hope our Heavenly
Father is very much in control of things and Jesus loves us this I know
for the Bible tells me so.
AUGUST 2010 For several months our
message has been on the Family of God. Paul, in Romans 16, gives
the long list of names of those who meant a great deal to him in the all
important ministry of church planting across the then known world.
He was close to the end of the physical journey and was remembering
those who had sacrificed so much for the sake of the Gospel and
especially for him. He could not go to most of them, personally,
but by letter wanted them to know in the best way he possibly could,
that he loved them and was so thankful for them and their gifts.
So many times Esther and I talk and express in marvel about how
much sacrifice goes into a gift of something hand made by a dear elderly
lady or the preparation of a meal straight out of the garden and then
sending fresh stuff with us to enjoy the next week. It may have been the
gift of a mechanic taking the time to make sure our vehicles are safe
and comfortable, one providing a place in their yard for us to park the
camper anytime we are in the area no matter the time, day or night.
It is those who help us get the Gospel out by the means of this web
site, who tireless answer our questions. There are those monetary
gifts given by God's family members to make sure the Man of God can get
to the next meeting. We listen as you tell us you pray for us
everyday, and what a great comfort and stronghold in knowing you have
asked and spoken and cared for us before Our Heavenly Father. The
gifts are endless and we have looked into your faces and been able to
tell how much you wanted us to have them.
As with Paul, our list of names would cover
many pages! We want you all to know, in tears of gratefulness to
our Lord for our Dear Family of God, we don't take lightly what we have
in you. To all who read and those who know us personally, May the
Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. AMEN
